DiveFolk Logbook Beta
Clean up your dive log
Add the files from your dive computer, check how DiveFolk grouped them, then download your log. Works with Shearwater, Garmin and other computers that export UDDF. Nothing is uploaded; it all happens in this browser window.
1. Add your dives
Not sure where your files are? See the steps below.
How to get your dive files
Shearwater
In Shearwater Cloud on a computer, select your dives, then choose File, Export, As UDDF. Drop the files here.
Garmin, one dive at a time
Sign in at connect.garmin.com on a computer (the phone app can't export). Open Activities, open a dive, click the gear icon at the top right, then choose Export Original. Drop the .zip you get here, as it is. You can drop several at once.
Garmin, every dive at once
In Garmin Connect, go to your account settings and find Export Your Data (it may be under Data Management or Privacy). Garmin emails you a download link, usually within a couple of days. Drop that whole .zip here. DiveFolk finds the dives and skips your runs, walks and other activities.
If the file is very large (over about 4 GB) and won't open, unzip it and drop the files named UploadedFiles...zip instead.
Other computers
Many dive apps and Subsurface can export UDDF. Look for Export, then UDDF. More computers are coming; tell us which one you use.
2. Check your dives
What do these columns mean?
- Same dive
- DiveFolk joins pieces your computer split apart, such as a quick trip to the surface or a false start. Untick it to keep them as separate dives.
- Use piece
- Untick to leave one piece out, for example a training exercise before the real dive.
- Log it
- Untick to skip a dive, such as a pool session.
- Clock fix
- If your computer was on the wrong time zone, move the dive by whole hours.
| Log it | Dive # | Same dive | Use piece | Clock fix | Date | Start | Minutes | Max ft | Min °F | Start psi | End psi | Computer # |
|---|
3. Download your log
The CSV opens in any spreadsheet. DL7 is the dive log format from DAN (Divers Alert Network); some dive log programs can import it. Each dive includes depth and water temperature readings, plus tank pressure when your computer records it.
