About
Built by a diver, for divers
I'm Alex. I joined the dive community in the summer of 2025 and got hooked. I trained with Aquatic Adventures in Virginia and did my first open water dives at Lake Phoenix.
Why DiveFolk exists
A year after I started, I had 49 dives on my dive computer, 36 pages in my paper logbook, and an online logbook that matched neither. My computer had split some dives in two. One trip's dives were stamped an hour off. Fixing it all by hand took hours.
DiveFolk is the set of tools I wished I'd had: free, simple, and built so your dive log stays yours. Around the tools, DiveFolk AI and the DiveFolk Commons gather the help and resources I kept searching for.
What DiveFolk promises
- Free. The tools and the guides cost nothing.
- Yours. Your dive files stay on your computer, and your log is a file you keep.
- Easy. Large text and plain words.
- Honest. Anything sponsored will be clearly labeled, and mistakes get fixed.
